Panic! At The Disco - A Fever You Can't Sweat Out (2005)

Rating: A
Let me start off by saying that I've chosen this album because of it's influence on powerpop music in the last half a decade. Since Panic! At The Disco released this album, every powerpop band in the business (Names like All Time Low, Hellogoodbye, Cobra Starship, Metro Station) have shown similar styles in their music. However, A Fever You Can't Sweat Out stand alone because of it's somewhat mature themes (Marriage, religion) and well put together album. The album is split into 2 halves, kind of like a theatre show, with the song Intermission separating them. I loved the first half of the album because of all the synthesizer utilized, but the 2nd half still really impressed me. Hopefully you guys will see what I mean.

  1. Rating: C
    Before I start off I'd like to say my rating system is as follows...
    A = Life changing album
    B = Personal favorite
    C = Enjoyed it enough to keep it on my I-pod
    F = Doesn't make the cut
    This album was very different from its counterpart Powerpop bands, in that, "A Fever You Can't Sweat Out" doesn't contain any filler tracks. The lyrics and vocals are generally lame and repetitive, but they suit the style of music, and create a simplistic atmosphere that is enjoyable to listen to. The musicianship is catchy enough to keep you hooked, and the tracks are short enough that they don't get on your nerves. A solid album by a seemingly retarded band, I gave it a chance, and I am not disappoint!
